Working With Rails

Entrepreneur and software developer for 20+ years, and still amazed by all the new stuff there is to learn. Been a Un*x programmer (C library, ksh, uucp), sendmail 5, ported Perl 4 to CLIX, a sysadmin, tech writer, web developer, teacher, CTO, CFO, VP of this-and-that, and consultant. I’ve founded (and ended) more little ventures than I care to remember, and can’t wait for the next one.

Over the years I’ve spent long periods programming in C, sh, perl, C++ (when it was still a pre-processor), Delphi, PHP, and most recently Ruby and Rails.

After selling a small company of mine at the height of the Bubble in 2000 (and mostly getting popped when the Bubble did), I’m currently the Geek-in-Chief at my two latest (decidedly non-tech) ventures: a book seller (Green Door Books) and an HVAC company (Conditioned Air Solutions).
