Working With Rails

In the past I organized the world’s first ever Ruby on Rails conference in Vancouver Canada (Canada on Rails) as well as a major industry PHP conference prior to that (both keynoting their respective language/framework creators – Rasmus Lerdorf and David Hansson). I’ve taught several rails workshops with crowds of upwards of 80 people. Consulted with Fortune 500 companies such as Jenny Craig, EA Sports, Intersport, Novartis, Canadian Conservative Party, as well as start-ups providing services ranging from content management systems to eCommerce shopping carts.

I also shoot high end fashion/glamour photography since Nov ‘07.. you can check my porfolio here at Perity Studios. Recently have got into directing, producing and shooting video. More on that soon.

Just recently I spoke in Hawaii on “Evolving with Infrastructure Automation”. The talk was based on how to get Chef to manage any number of colocated servers in the wild including amazon instances as well as how Chef can be used to save enormous amounts of time in other areas of the biz.
