After spending 8 years working with Java and even more years working in C++ I discovered Ruby some time in early 2004 and never looked back. This was shortly before Rails and the big community explosion and it was a fortuitous time to arrive.
I started using Rails for my hobby projects with one of the early releases 0.5 or 0.6 but did not get an opportunity to use Ruby and Rails professionally until 2006 when I joined Cominded and later when I joined reeplay.it where I developed the web front-end. I gambled on Rails 2.0 and have not been disappointed so far.
In my spare time I develop other Rails applications including a blogging tool Squib and utilities like Mailtrap and also create Cocoa applications for MacOSX, most notably a Subversion check-in tool called Diffly.
