Working With Rails

Forward Engineering is looking for a talented web applications and platform software engineer to be the lead developer on an exciting new product currently in development. This position involves design and creation of server-side Ruby applications that incorporate a web-based user-interface to coordinate and distribute multimedia content to Linux-based systems at remote locations. The position needs someone who is able to lead the project under guidance and provide design and application recommendations. This is a full-time hire opportunity.

DESIRED SKILLS:
The successful candidate needs to demonstrate experience in the following areas:
- Able to work with application design to develop intuitive UI behaviors to accomplish system business objectives
- Server side web applications development. Experience in any of the following languages is a plus: Ruby, Ruby on Rails, PHP, Python, Perl, Javascript, Java
- Familiarity with CSS and HTML
- Familiarity with Linux environments and scripting (e.g. Bash, etc..)
- Understanding of networking concepts and security practices
- Experience using configuration management systems in the context of a source code control/release environment.
- Very important: the ability to have fun while crafting code.

DESIRED EDUCATION:
BS in Computer Science or other related degree.
